Currently, I’m conducting all my sessions on Zoom. While I look forward to seeing patients in person again, I don’t have a reopening plan at this time. I now have 18 months of experience which has shown me that telehealth is an effective way to assist all types of patients in forming a therapeutic alliance and creating secure relationships amongst couples.
In order to maintain clear business relationships, here are a few things to know about my private practice policies:
I have a private confidential voice mail system so please feel free to leave a detailed message when calling. Please note that cell phone messages can be unclear.
All phone calls will be returned within 24-48 hours.
All phone conversations and all sessions are completely confidential.
Scheduling of all appointments is best done at the beginning or end of the session.
For new clients, I reserve extra time for initial phone contact, so please be patient, as I will return your call in a timely fashion.
I am required by law, as a mandated reporter by the State of New York, to report any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
All individuals are required to sign a consent form if and when we discuss the benefit of consulting with teachers, psychiatrists, or other individuals working with my patients.
Please download and carefully read the Notice Of Privacy Practices (HIPPA) form.
I endorse full transparency in couple therapy. I will not keep secrets. If information is shared with me by one partner and the other partner is excluded, please understand that I expect that the disclosing partner will share this information with their partner promptly.
Additionally, if you are seeing an individual therapist, I will request that you sign a release of information granting me permission to communicate with your therapist. It is my ethical responsibility as a licensed mental health counselor to engage in authorized communication with your other treating providers. My goal is to introduce myself and share my treatment plan. I will require that both partners sign a release of information for each provider working with you and your partner. If you do not grant me the permission to communicate with your therapist, I reserve the right to terminate treatment and offer you an appropriate referral.
To cancel an appointment, please call my office. Please take note of the following cancelation windows to avoid being charged:
COUPLES: 48-hour cancellation policy
INDIVIDUALS: 24-hour cancellation
If an appointment is canceled within the above timeframe, you will be charged for the session.
